Longhorsley to Rothbury – 11 September 2021
After 17 months and 38 missed walks, we are finally making a comeback. It is not a very big come back, just a little jaunt down the road to Rothbury but for many members, it might be good to get back out together after all this time.
If we can keep going over the next few months we are going to keep the journey times on the coach to a minimum. We have eight walks planned until the end of this year with all but one of them based in Northumberland. Our first walk finishes in Rothbury which we have not been to since December 2019.
For our first trip out we have kept the route distances fairly short but hopefully with enough variation to suit everyone. If you would like to be off the coach quite quickly after we have picked everyone up and can manage 10.5 miles then the first drop off is at Longhorsley. Just after turning off the A697 road, the 7-mile route starts at Weldon Bridge and finally, the 9-mile route starts at Pauperhaugh.
While the 10.5 mile and 7-mile routes are coming in directly to Rothbury the 9-mile route is doing a circuit above Rothbury on the carriageways which involves a short uphill climb but nothing too strenuous.
