Christon Bank to Bamburgh – 4 January 2025
Here we are the first of 2025 and a walk to Bamburgh and with luck a walk along the beach in the sunshine. We were in Bamburgh in November 2023 which is just over a year ago but it seems a lot longer than that when you think of all the 26 routes we did last year. Considering we only walked the coast twice last year, this one might be a welcome change. However, this year’s programme only has this one coastal walk so if you like beach walks you had better get your place booked quickly.
The three walks available this Saturday are an 11.5-mile route, a 10.5-mile route and a 10-mile route.
The 11.5-mile route starts on the B1339 road at Embleton and after walking down the road and past the golf course the route picks up the coastal route which runs through Low Newton, Beadnell and Seahouses and then continues along the coast to Bamburgh.
The 10.5-mile route starts on the B1339 road and heads east towards High Newton-by-the-Sea. It then runs along the coast passing Beadnell and Seahouses and then picks up the same route as the 11.5-mile walk all the way to Bamburgh.
Finally, the 10-mile route starts on the B1339 road goes inland towards Tughall and Tughall Grange. The route then begins to move east and at Annstead it comes out on the road just before Serahouses Golf Club. From Seahouses this walk follows the two other routes to Bamburgh.
