Christon Bank to Bamburgh – 11 November 2023

Bamburgh is one of those places where we have been forward and backwards, sometimes walking towards it and sometimes walking from it. On a couple of occasions, we even did circular walks. This particular time we are walking towards it.

We have walked to Bamburgh six times over the years, the last time was in September 2021 as we came out of the lockdowns and the pandemic.

We have three walks out on Saturday, an 11.5-mile route, a 10.5-mile route and a 9-mile route.

The 11.5-mile route starts on the B6347 road not far from Christon Bank. It heads north past Fallodon Hall and the old Brunton Airfield making its way over fields to North Sunderland where it joins the coast just after Seahouses. The route then runs along the coast until turning inland at Bamburgh Castle.

The 10.5-mile route starts on the B1339 road and heads east towards High Newton-by-the-Sea. It then runs along the coast passing Beadnell and Seahouses and then picks up the same route as the 11.5-mile walk all the way to Bamburgh.

Finally, the 9-mile route starts on the B1339 road and picks up the 11.5-mile route as it passes Brunton Airfield and then continues on the same route all the way into Bamburgh.

If you would like to join us for a forward-looking walk you can get in touch with us using the Contact Page of our website, you can also download the walk descriptions below and the GPX routes here.
