Leyburn to Masham – 30 September 2023

A Wensleydale walk starting around Middleham and ending in Masham which is just about right for some Autumn routes. We have been to the Yorkshire Dales many times but for some reason have only visited Masham three times, the last time was in May 2018.

The longest route of 12 miles starts just to the east of Leyburn at Harmby and goes roughly southeast following the line of the River Ure and past Jervaulx Abbey to finish at Masham. The 11-mile route starts on the road between Leyburn and Middleham and follows closely the 12-mile route.

The shortest route of the three is the 9.5-mile route. This route starts southeast of Middleham and also follows the line of the River Ure passing through Jervaulx Abbey on the way to Masham.

Three good moderate walks to choose from and in a nice part of the Yorkshire Dales, why not spend a Saturday out walking? If you would like to join us for a walk you can get in touch from our Contact Page.  You can also download the route descriptions below and the GPS routes here.
