Ingoe Moor to Meldonpark Corner – 24 November 2018

The pub where we are finishing is called the Dyke Neuk and on old Ordnance Survey maps it was also a place name but some time ago the place became Meldonpark Corner so as it’s one or the other or maybe both that’s where we are ending up this time around. Our first visit to this place was in 2005 and then seven years later we turned up again in 2012. Thinking that it would be an ideal place for a Christmas buffet we turned up again for the last walk of the year in December 2013. Sure enough, the buffet was excellent but five years have gone past and we are only now making a return visit.

On that last walk, we only had one route because we all wanted to get in together. The image for this post shows a lot of the group crossing the River Wansbeck a couple of miles from the finish. In 2012 we started the routes from Rothbury and this time around we are using the routes that we first did in 2005 with the 7.5-mile route now included.

So do you want to do one or the other of the four routes, three of the routes are coming through Bolam Lake, always a nice place to visit at any time of the year. The longer route is coming over Shaftoe Crags and all the routes are headed into some great late autumn scenery in this part of Northumberland. You can get in touch with us through our Contact Page and you can find the walk descriptions here and the GPS routes here.
